LGBTQIA+ economic justice is at the heart of our programming.

We intentionally connect our advocacy work around economic, housing, and gender justice. Queer Power Alliance works to change economic policies, build leadership and expand the power of LGBTQIA+ workers at their workplace and in our larger economy.

LGBTQIA+ low-income and working-class workers experience many challenges in the workplace based on their gender identity, sexual orientation, gender, ability, age, and race. LGBTQIA+ people deserve to be treated fairly and be paid a living wage.

Queer Power Alliance’s Economic Justice program was founded because we can’t separate our lives as queer people from our needs as workers. We stand in solidarity with all workers and laborers. Our work provides training, advocates for just practices, and organizes workshops for queer workers to network and learn about their rights.

  • Economic Leadership cohort is an opportunity to bring LGBTQIA+ workers together to discuss worker rights, economic empowerment, and LGBTQIA+ workers’ impact. We are invested in supporting our community around economic issues, bringing community together to talk and show how LGBTQIA+ workers are leaders in the industries as well as building community connections, power, and action throughout Washington.

  • Our quarterly workshops educate Seattle’s workers about labor laws. As the work environment constantly chances, we keep workers informed of their rights and safety-requirements within the workplace.

  • Allyship is available to you for a one-on-one about your worker’s rights. We are here to provide information about your rights, and offer resources you can use. Got a question? Reach out!
