LGBTQ+ Housing Justice

Allyship’s 2015 Housing & Safety Survey taken by 1100 participants found that affordable housing and equitable development are priorities for our communities. In 2017 Allyship did a follow-up survey of 300 participants finding out how LGBTQ+ marginalized communities have been impacted by Seattle’s housing crisis and what are community-led solutions to increase LGBTQ+ friendly housing. Check out our survey below.

Allyship is currently supporting the City of Seattle’s Housing Affordability & Livability Agenda (HALA) recommendations that address the city’s housing affordability crisis. We contribute our intersectional LGBTQ+ voices and a ‘development without displacement’ message to HALA community meetings, focus groups, and hearings. We graduated 9 grassroots LGBTQ+ housing justice leaders in 2016 as part of our LGBTQ+ Social Justice Leadership Institute. In 2017 we have trained 13 grassroots leaders around LGBTQ+ housing justice.
